Kaitlyn Kaufman | Housing Advocate

Staff Spotlight: Kaitlyn Kaufman

1. Who are you, what do you do at PH, and where are you from?

My name is Kaitlyn Kaufman and I am from Columbus, OH. I am the Housing Advocate for Project Horizon, and it is my job to help people find emergency housing.

2. What led you to Lexington and the work you do now?

My husband and I moved here in 2016 after he accepted a job offer at Kroger as a Pharmacist. I kind of fell into this work, but I love what I do! It has been a very rewarding and humbling experience.

3. What’s the best part of your job?

Working with my wonderful coworkers and making a positive impact in our community.

4. What’s something most people don’t know about you?

One weird thing is that brushing my hair makes me sneeze.

Deck the Halls: A Look Back

Deck the Halls was back after a hiatus last year!

Held every year in early December, this event provides an elegant dinner with live music and dancing and a silent auction.

This year's event was a huge success, raising record amounts to help eliminate domestic and sexual violence in our community.

Pam Simpson Peace Award Recipient Rosanne Facciolo

Pam Simpson Peace Award

It gives us great pleasure to present the 2021 Pam Simpson Peace Award to our partner in peace, Rosanne Facciolo!

The Project Horizon Board established Pam Simpson Peace Award in 2012 in memory of the Pam Simpson who was a long-time supporter of Project Horizon and was the board president at the time of her death. The Pam Simpson Peace Award is intended to recognize extraordinary contributions by an individual or organization that has furthered the mission of Project Horizon and worked toward the elimination of domestic or sexual violence through education, advocacy, direct services to clients, financial support, volunteer work, or legislative activities.

This years’ winner exemplifies the qualities on which this award was established. The 2021 winner is generous with her time, resources and energy. We can always count on her to say yes, no matter what the task. Her dedication to Project Horizon and our mission are unmatched. She is a hard worker, but often quietly in the background.

Congratulations to the 2021 Pam Simpson Peace Award recipient, Rosanne Facciolo!
