Attend a Camp for Survivors

Project Horizon is proud to support victims of domestic and sexual violence by partnering with Camp Mabon and Camp Ostara. In alignment with spring and autumn equinox, survivors are given an opportunity to experience a new kind of healing journey.

Established in 2017, Camp Ostara is for survivors of intimate partner abuse or trauma, following a similar retreat format like Camp Mabon.

Typically, Camp Ostara takes place in conjunction with the spring equinox. Check back soon for available dates to attend the next one!

Both camps offer a positive, pivotal, transformative outdoor experience, particularly to survivors with limited resources or few opportunities to participate in such events.

Campers stay at a Virginia State Park lodge. Activities, are held in a safe, supportive outdoor environment, and designed to help survivors who wish to face and master their fears, regain confidence in their own body, and experience the healing power of the natural world.

Women of any race, ethnicity, place of origin, age, faith, sexual orientation, or disability are welcome and we protect the confidentiality of each individual.

Mabon is the Celtic harvest celebration of the Autumn Equinox, held to honor the change of seasons on the day when light and dark are in balance. Ostara is the celebration of the Spring Equinox, honoring the fertility and rebirth of the earth. For these reasons, each camp is held during its season of origin.
